Join us for an engaging conversation on the impacts of climate change on Vermont’s iconic maple syrup industry. Learn about rising temperatures, shorter sugaring seasons, and how these changes threaten both syrup production and forest health. Walker Cammack will also share insights into Smokey House Center’s innovative Climate Adaptive Maple Program which will launch in 2025 and is funded by the USDA Acer Access grant. This new program is pioneering research into climate-resilient forest management and sap extraction techniques. Discover how this vital work aims to safeguard the future of Vermont’s sugarbushes and support producers in adapting to a rapidly changing world.
