  What To Bring

The following list is a minimum of what you should bring with you to the Field Studies Program each day.  At times weather or the activities planned for the day may mean you need to bring other things as well.  Always come prepared to spend several hours outside.  If you do not have an item and cannot easily obtain it, let us know ahead of time and we will do what we can to help you get it.  There are lockers in which you can keep your things, both during the day and overnight.

q     Lunch or money for lunch (Sandwiches can be ordered for about $3.00).

q     Water Bottle (with water in it)

q     Day Pack (We have extras if you do not own one)

Warm layers including:

q     Rain jacket (Rain pants are great too!  Bring them if you have them.)

q     Insulating layers (sweaters, sweatshirt)

q     Long pants

q     Rubber mud boots or shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and muddy (Shoes are better than sandals since they provide protection for the sides of your feet.)

q     Shoe for hiking

q     Extra clothes in case what you are wearing gets wet

You may also want:

q     Shoes for inside and traveling to and from SHC

q     Binoculars

q     Field guides (if you have them)

q     Polarized Sunglasses

q     Sunscreen and/or sun hat, insect repellant
